Purpose of the Center
The purpose of the Canterbury Center is to provide a supportive Christian environment for the faculty, staff and students at Old Dominion University. This support includes quiet study, counseling, social activities, as well as spiritual formation and worship. By maintaining an atmosphere of warm welcome towards all who come to the Center, we strive to demonstrate God's love for all God's people.

Study, worship and fellowship
Our spacious building provides a home for study, worship and fellowship with students of many cultures and the opportunity for growing together as children of God. We are a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia within the Anglican Communion.

Chaplain and students
The Rev. Wendy Wilkinson is Chaplain at the Center. Her role is to provide sacramental presence and spiritual leadership. We are, foremost, a student run community.

Weekly Gatherings
Lunches are held on Thursdays at 12:30 pm.  Please invite your friends and colleagues. All are welcome regardless of faith experience.

Evening programming is determined each semester according to student interests and class schedules. Second semester includes a Lenten study. Commuters are encouraged to study in our space between classes and use our kitchen facilities.
